the story... (novel project by Midnite)
In the Dream Realm exist the Dream Weavers, working under the Sandman, a gentle, boy-like entity. Bad Dream Weavers Co-exist with the Good Dream Weavers, a needed balance though the two kinds often clash. Even Bad Dream Weavers, however, fear the Nightemare Creators. Midnite is a Bad Dream Weaver, but rumored to be descended from a royal line of Nightemare Creators. Even her colleagues stay clear of her due to this connection. Midnite doesn't seem to mind. She takes pleasure in twisting dreams to something more... unpleasant. While she is not altogether cruel, she has no qualms in inflicting pain... and often enjoying it. She is disgusted by Star, a golden pixie-like Dream Weaver who's all sunshine and innocence, the type to frolic from dream to dream, weaving visions of gardens or mermaids. Midnite may find herself in her own Nitemare when a mission requires them to join together.
Both embark on their dangerous journey through the Dream Realms. Midnite's cold shoulder to Star slowly fades as the girl proves herself to be more than sugary fluff witha genuine ability to love and determination to protect those she considers friends. As star is targeted by the Nitemare Creators, Midnite starts feeling strangely protective. Star is the first to see underneath Midnite's cold exterior and an unlikely friendship forms; they become the perfect compliments to each other. After all, how can there be darkness without light or light without shadows?
More than fiction...
Midnite and Star are more than just characters in a story. I originally designed them as a type of mascot when Midnite (my best friend) and I started an anime club for our local area. Midnite was inspired to start a story for them while I continued doing artwork for them. They are really exaggerations based off of us and we have taken them up as a type of aliases. Because of this, not only can Midnite and Star be strictly fantasy characters, but can be in modern or anime-related settings as well.

That would be the 2 Hot 2 Cool characters... but I don't think I should hold that contest until after I start the manga and actually have something to show for it.

I think that you might be right about having some referance drawings for you characters from 2 Hot 2 Cool before you do a contest for your characters from it. I will be looking on here and on gaia then to see when you do start another contest. I think it would be cool also if you did some side characters from the Dream Weaver World. I think a lot of us would love for Midnite to post the first chapter of it, with the next Midnite-Star contest.
I like entering your contests on gaia the people on there were really nice that entered and talk to. I bet that you will get alot of us that will come back again and again. No matter what characters of yours you use. Because you are really nice to do a contest for. If you ever do one on here, I think I would enter also.

What's wrong with resizing an avatar for DA? You can just use MS paint or something small like that.

I've tried it keeps rejecting it for some odd reason, I guess I am stuck in trail and error mode. I hope to get out of that mode real soon. Because it is really evil that it isn't working for me.
Actually yours was the second contest I had ever done. The first one I did wasn't that good. I found your first Star-Midnite/Midnite-Star contest around the same time and I thought I would try again. I am glad I did
But there was still fun to be apart of some how. Plus all the different input when they decide to help you get better. I really like that, that is why I am looking forward to the next one that you do put on. I'm glad that you enjoyed running them. You and Midnite are both great to hang around to chat with also
