Joy and Gloom

Well I wanted to do a really nice all out piece and hopefully I suceeded some. Gasp, there's a background! XD

This is for *Audley 's art contest to win a Pullip doll. It'd be my first doll, so wish me luck!
The contest is to draw any illustration or inspired art for their simple and beauituful fairytale, Misery and Gloom. [link]

For those who are too lazy to read the story (which I encourage you to do), just to get an idea... Gloom is the daughter of the beautiful Prince of the Ills, Sorrow, and Grief. Anything around her greys and decays, and due to this she is banished to the gardens where one day she meets the prince, Joy. I had the strongest visual image at this moment when he's holding out the rose, and she reaches to touch it (even if it dies at her touch). I think it shows a hint of what she is to become by the end of the story.

I planned to use more greys and other dreary colors but it didn't quite work out that way XD Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this!
