Collab with ~chocoloco who did the wonderful lineart for me to color!
I met chocoloco through this when I came across the sketch and on it she said she was looking for someone to color it... I fell in love with the movie the first time I saw it, and I ended up watching it at least four times the first week with different people (in different languages XD too). I adored the book as soon as I could read it, and I believe this was based more around the book. If you haven't watched the movie or read the book, I beg you to do so!
Oh! And I cosplayed as young Sophie at Jacon along with a friend who went as Howl (and kindly bought me a Calcifer). It was so windy out so that walking between buildings my hat kept blowing off and I was constantly holding it down.. but I suppose it made me feel more in character
Fantastic all around - amazing coloring and adore the style, so kudos to chocoloco for the lineart as well! Since you did the coloring, I'll focus on that: love the muted look you've done here - everything still manages to be incredibly vivid and I adore the mottled colors on the lower bits of the castle implying the rusty-esque state of the poor thing.

Scientist: I can't begin to tell you how fascinating this is! Sheppard: Anthropologist-fascinating or actual fascinating?
Late reply but thank you! I find it funny that the only two collaboration pieces I have in my gallery are both Howl's Moving Castle You may like that one as well.
Very, very, beautiful. I love everything about this picture, especially Howl's hair and the way you made Calcifer.
I personally love the book better, but the movie is one of my favorite things to watch. I'm in the process of buying Castle in the Air and The House of Many Ways too.
I got excited about the House of Many Ways and went ahead and bought it without thinking that I should really read Castle in the Air first XD So now I'm delayed. But I do adore the books. I can't say I like the movie any less (at least compared to other movies based on favorite books)--I think it really cares it's own charm. But definitely the books get into the characters, story, in a lot more detail and had a really interesting end. I love the fact that the books showed Sophie to have her own magic in the end (especially the hats and plants are affected by her moods lol).
